The sport is fun and easy to learn. The object of the game being to simply roll the bowl as close to the jack (or target ball) as possible. The bowl is not a perfect sphere, allowing it to curve towards the jack.
Carpet Bowling is a great alternative to lawn bowling and can be played indoors all year around.
While some bowlers love the challenge of competition, the Mission club mainly promotes personal enjoyment and social interaction.

Enhances mental well-being
Social, it's easy to make new friends and it's fun!
Lawn Bowling is a great low-impact therapeutic form of exercise for all ages.
Lawn and carpet bowling have been part of Mission since the mid 1970’s. Our club has evolved over the years and now is a casual meeting place where we bowl outside in the Summer and inside at least four days a week.
Our club is open to Mission area residents of all ages! We are a social group who gather together for a little exercise and fellowship. In addition, social events are held in the clubhouse every couple months.
The club has many sets of outside bowls, in all different weights, plus the equipment needed to carpet bowl indoors. The only requirement for both inside and outside bowling is to wear flat shoes and comfortable clothing.
We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm and provide all necessary equipment. Attendance can be casual, with members not required to play on any specific day.
We also serve refreshments daily including cookies, coffee or tea!
